Are You SPENT?

Shannon Sliger

Recently, I found myself spent.  No energy or creativity for life and even less patience to handle my children and everyday stressors.    As I was about to book a flight to California to do yoga and drink juice, I thought, "why would I go all that way when I know the best healers in Atlanta, own a juice bar and teach yoga?" I decided I'd do a staycation and save the trip and the money.  Then I thought, "I bet other people would like to do this with me."

Cleanse Camp is a  3 day weekend detox curated and led by me, Shannon Salter Sliger.  Get ready for yoga, guided meditations, Thai herbal massage,  raw cooking demos, intro to Ayurveda and more.  Choose a 3 day cleanse or clean eating menu of choice from Dtox Juice and let's enjoy a long weekend of pure bliss and total rejuvenation- mind, body and spirit.

Cleanse Camp Yoga with SSS

Shannon Sliger

Shannon Salter Sliger RYT200 ISHTA
I am a ten year veteran yoga teacher.  I trained with Yogiraj Alan Finger in New York.  I.S.H.T.A stands for Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda.  It is a nice mix of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga with an emphasis on safety.  All levels will feel welcome and comfortable with many modifications given. Experienced yogis will be challenged at the same time.

During Cleanse Camp, an Ayurvedic Assessment will be done.  From this information, you will learn your dosha - either Pitta, Vata, Kapha or a combination. Finding imbalances in your dosha can help decide a yoga practice that will bring greater harmony to your body.

A cooling sequence of yin for a Pitta imbalance will remove excessive heat through calming, restorative postures.  All forward folds are great cooling poses for Pitta.

A settling, relaxing practice is good for Vata imbalances.  A series of slow flow, standing postures, pranayama and meditation can soothe the feverish, cluttered, Vata mind.

A vigourous flow to create heat is most beneficial in a Kapha-based sequenced.

Following a yoga practice based on your dosha can help bring balance and peace.

Join us for Cleanse Camp in November or January to learn more!

are my children out to get me?

Unlike a runner's high, yoga is cumulative.  You can miss a few days, a week or two and the effects of yoga can still linger.  For me, practicing at least once a week is necessary to be a normal human. Practicing twice a week increases my patience exponentially.  If I practice three or more times per week, my children become hilarious and not so annoying.  The shift is 180 degrees.  From thinking my children are surely out to get me to finding the humor in the things they do is what it's all about.   Yoga works.
